An ancient habitation mound that served as the port of Ur from the Early Dynastic III period until the Ur III period, and possibly longer. Studies have revealed canals and a port.

Also known as Maftul Shaykh Ajil. Jemdet Nasr-Early Dynastic periods settlement. Large mound, badly damaged in recent times, but better visible on Corona imagery (1968). Surveyed by T. Wright (1966).
