Çölkayiği (Balboura)

The very early traces of inhabitation of the site date back to the fifth/fourth millenium. The city was founded in the Hellenistic times in the 3rd century BC.. Balbura -Βάλβουρα was a Lycian town, the site of which is at Çölkayiği [ship of the desert]. The ruins are on two hills and on the plain below. Baalbura had a wide territory. The village Toriaeum (Kozagaci)  and few more belonged to Balbura in the II century AD1.
