Ancient city of Seydra is located NW of the Seke Village.

The name Syedreon, which is the ancient name of the city, appears for the first time on the coins minted by the city in its name during the reign of Roman Emperor Tiberius (14-17 AD) and proves  its importance as the western border of the Cilicia Region, the excavations revealed the remains of the Bronze Age occupation of the site. The ancient city of Syedra was entered through the still standing monumental gate in the west. The ruins of buildings such as baths, theatre, temple, basilica, church, houses and shops are still visible.

Syedra was an ancient port city in region of ancient Cilicia, Pamphylia, or Isauria, on the southern coast of modern-day Turkey between the towns of Alanya and Gazipaşa. Syedra was settled in the 7th century BC. In he VI ventury BC  the city came under Lydians control.
